Malinowski. Here is duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Robert R. Malinoski that was taken at the Sherman Creek Bridge near Duncannon, Pennsylvania, on 18 May 1965. Shown here are four diesel-electric locomotives pulling an eastbound manifest freight train that stretches all the way around this curve in the Susquehanna River and out of sight at the upper right. In the lead (R to L) are engines #2281, #2527, #2234, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2281 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in June of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2527 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2234 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. The slide mount is annotated "Train SW6." This train's cars are visible way over there! ("PrrFan18n")

Spruce Creek. Here is the fifth of eight successive photos that I took in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2539, #2517, #2234, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2539 and #2517 are GF-25's built by General Electric and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; the former was built in February of 1965, the latter in October of 1962. #2234 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound TrucTrain heading for the Enola Yards. Wave to the Fireman!

Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Pictured at the right is a train consisting of 110 empty hoppers ~ headed by Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9808 ~ on its way up the East Slope of the Allegheny Mountains; the N-5 cabin car is #477202. Pictured at the left (L to R) are PRR engines #2433, #2239, #2362, and #2286. #2433 is an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2239 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in May of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2362 and #2286 are EF-25's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2362 was built in March of 1965, but #2286 was built in June of 1964. They've come down the East Slope of the Allegheny Mountains with a 99-car merchandise freight train and are on their way to the Enola Yards. Description:
Bellwood. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at Pinecroft ~ just west of Bellwood, Pennsylvania ~ on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2248, #2309, and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by EMD. #2248 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2309 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an 85-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with N-8 caboose #478176. Photo taken at the Riggle's Gap Bridge.

PRR 2515, GF-25, 1964
Description:
Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 12 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2515, #2411, and #2249. #2515 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2411 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. And #2249 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in May of 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower. They're pulling a 106-car westbound iron-ore train along with N-8 cabin car #478216.

Museum Bound. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train near Pinecroft, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2249, #2229, and #2206. All are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 160-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477243. This photo was taken at the Route 483 Bridge. Up to October of 2010, at least, #2249 was in active excursion service with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, as number "501."

Shown here are PRR engines #2250, #2305, and three other units whose numbers are not visible. #2250 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 anX rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2305 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 128-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with N-8 caboose #478125. Wave to the engineer! As of 04 July 2016, or 51 years later, #2250 ~ now numbered "2198" ~ is in active excursion service with the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2250, #2272, and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by EMD. #2250 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2272 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train through the Huntingdon Station after crossing 4th Street. More of the train is visible in the distance as it snakes around the "S" curve just East of the Station.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #7241 and #2251. Both were built by EMD. #7241 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2251 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are travelling down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve and through Altoona to the Enola Yards with a train of 98 "Ore Jennies." The caboose is #477448.

In this context, they've just passed the Tipton grade crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Enola to Altoona and points West.
